NIOS 10th Admission - Open School Board (NIOS 10th Admission in Delhi)

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) provides an alternative education system for students who have either failed in 9th or 10th or wish to complete their education through an open school. With the flexibility of choosing your own study schedule and subjects, NIOS offers a great opportunity for students who want to complete their secondary education (10th class) without the constraints of regular school attendance.


Eligibility Criteria for NIOS 10th Admission

  • Minimum Age: 14 years (on 31st July of the year of admission).
  • Previous Qualification: Students must have completed the 8th class or equivalent.
  • No Age Limit: Students of any age can take admission in the 10th class through NIOS, provided they meet the minimum age requirement.

NIOS 10th Admission Document Requirements

  1. 8th class passed Marks Sheet (or equivalent certificate) in color photocopy.
  2. Address Proof (Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, etc.) in color photocopy.
  3. Passport-size Photo (with name and date mentioned).
  4. Birth Certificate (if applicable, for age verification).
  5. Caste Certificate (if applicable).

NIOS 10th Admission Process

The admission process is simple and can be completed online or Offline. Students can choose their subjects and stream as per their preference.

  1. Select Subjects: Students can choose from a wide range of subjects as per their interest. Some popular subjects include:

    • Group A: Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali, Sanskrit.
    • Group B: Mathematics, Social Science, Home Science, Economics, Business Studies, etc.
    • Group C: Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
  2. Fill Admission Form: Complete the online application form, upload the required documents, and submit the form.

  3. Payment of Fees: Fees can be paid online (via Credit/Debit card or Net banking) or through Demand Draft (DD) from any nationalized bank in favor of Secretary NIOS payable at the concerned Regional Centre.


NIOS 10th Admission Fee

  • Without Late Fees: The fee structure varies for different streams, but typically it includes the cost for 5 subjects.
  • Late Fee: There are additional charges for late admissions. Students are advised to submit their admission forms on time to avoid extra charges.

NIOS 10th Exam Dates

  • Stream-1 (Block 1): Exams are held in April/May.
  • Stream-1 (Block 2): Exams are held in September/October.
